On stage

A dance performance to an audience is the outcome of practiced and rehearsed movement and choreography. But the performance is brought to life with the added dimensions of stage lighting, costume, props and set design. Of course, the photography of a live audience performance is often  not possible or  limited; the audience have come to see the show, not the photography of the show. Sometimes it is possible to shoot discreetly from the back or side of the of the room, or occasionally from the front row. So I am extremely grateful to the producers of the shows, who allowed me to find decent vantage points from which to shoot. Even more so to those who provided an opportunity to shoot full technical and dress rehearsals on stage without the audience.
