Rehearsals and workshops

The final execution of any work of art depends on practice, creative development and sheer hard work. Dancers, movement artists who use their own bodies as instruments of expression, are perhaps physically the hardest working of artists. These behind the scenes images of workshops, R&D sessions and rehearsals aim to capture some of the work that goes into creating the physical, mental and emotional power of a dance performance. This set includes professional and community dancers preparing for choreographed productions, as well as some young people at the start of their dance journeys in classes and workshops, and others who dance for fun, well-being and social interaction.
